How We'd Travel As Locals —

Day 2

Manali Arrival and Local Manali Sightseen

⏱️ 5 - 12 Hours of Sightseen Time 🚗 60 km
After hot buffet breakfast, step out into the crisp mountain sunshine to discover the town's local gems. Your first stop is the ancient, timber-crafted Hadimba Devi Temple, standing proud beneath towering deodar trees. Right beside the sacred shrine sits a cheerful amusement park for children and a serene pine woodland known as Van Vihar, where you can wander through soft, shaded trails.

From here, make your way to the Clubhouse, a lively retreat buzzing with indoor games and riverside thrills like river crossing over bubbling waters. The Clubhouse also marks the scenic threshold to Old Manali. Because the uphill alleys are narrow and parking is notoriously tricky, avoid taking your personal vehicle—explore on foot, hire an auto-rickshaw, or hop into a shared cab instead. Wander uphill to the peaceful Manu Temple, soaking in the rustic wooden architecture along the way. Afterwards, slip into one of Old Manali’s famous bohemian riverside cafes; sit back, listen to the roaring mountain stream, and spend unhurried hours sipping coffee and soaking in the bohemian vibe. As twilight descends, head down to Manali Mall Road to stroll amidst bright shopfronts and pick up souvenirs, before returning to your hotel for a delicious dinner and a sound night's sleep.

Day 3

Snowpoint Tour Upto Rohtang Paas

⏱️ 5 - 12 Hours of Sightseen Time 🚗 150 km
Step out after breakfast from your hotel to embark on an exhilarating snow safari across the grand trans-Himalayan passes. Heading out towards Rohtang Pass requires an NGT green permit—which we arrange beforehand—and depends entirely on clear road conditions. While cheaper operators often cut corners and skip scenic stretches, your planned journey follows the quintessential alpine route via Gulaba and Marhi, ascending to the windswept ridge of Rohtang Pass.

Because mountain roads and snow lines shift unpredictably across seasons, the Rohtang Pass permit and ride are not bundled into the base package; whenever Rohtang is open and accessible, it can be arranged directly for an additional ₹3,000 to ₹4,000 for a 4-seater cab at the best verified rate. If Rohtang remains shut, you won't miss out on the snow, as powdery banks readily welcome you across Gramphu, Koksar, Sissu, or Solang Valley.

Winding past the heights, descend through the barren slopes of Gramphu and Koksar into Lahaul Valley to reach Sissu, where a refreshing short trek brings you face-to-face with a cascading mountain waterfall. Journey back beneath the towering Pir Panjal range through the marvel of the Atal Tunnel, traversing from the North Portal to the South Portal. You will emerge near Solang Valley, where winter brings thrilling snow activities and a tranquil walk leads to the shrine of Anjani Mahadev (in summer, Solang stays relatively mellow). Conclude your adventurous loop at Vashisht Village, dipping your feet into the natural sulfur hot water springs to wash away all trace of fatigue before returning to your hotel for a hearty dinner and an overnight rest.
📍 Places to Visit Today: Gulaba | Marhi | Rohtang Pass | Gramphu | Koksar | Sissu Waterfall | Atal Tunnel (North & South Portals) | Solang Valley & Anjani Mahadev Temple | Vashisht Village & Hot Water Springs

Day 4

Manali to Dharamshala via Palampur Tea Gardens & Baijnath

⏱️ 7 - 14 Hours of Sightseen and journey 🚗 270 km
Leave early for Dharamshala. This is a long transfer day, so choose only one or two main stops instead of trying to cover every temple and activity on the way.
At Pandoh, you can consider the ropeway to Baglamukhi Devi Temple, if it is operating and timings work for your route. Other possible stops include Baijnath Shiva Temple, a Palampur tea garden, or Chamunda Devi Temple. These places are in different sections of the journey, so discuss the order with your driver. Bir Billing is an option if you’re interested in paragliding, but the activity and detour need extra time; consider adding a night rather than squeezing it into an already long drive.
Reach Dharamshala, check in and rest.
📍 Places to Visit Today: Pandoh Dam and Baglamukhi Temple ropeway (optional) | Baijnath Shiva Temple (optional) | Palampur tea garden (optional) | Bir Billing paragliding (extra time needed) | Chamunda Devi Temple (optional)

Day 5

Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj Sightseeing

⏱️ 7 - 12 Hours of Sightseen 🚗 60 km
After breakfast, visit the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium and Army Museum/War Memorial. Continue towards McLeod Ganj, stopping at St. John in the Wilderness Church on the way if you wish. In McLeod Ganj, visit the Dalai Lama Temple and explore the Tibetan neighbourhood and cafés.

Continue to Bhagsunag Temple and walk the short trail to Bhagsu Waterfall. The waterfall walk is around 500–1,000 metres from the temple; wear shoes with a good grip if the path is wet. In summer, you can try the open swimming pool at Bhagsu. In winter, swimming is for the truly committed—cold water may change the plan quickly. Bhagsunag Temple and Waterfall information

Keep Dharamkot, Dal Lake and Naddi optional. Dharamkot is better for a longer stay, Dal Lake is small and its current condition should be checked locally, and Naddi makes most sense for sunset when you have extra time. Since this itinerary also includes Dalhousie, skip Naddi if the day is getting crowded. The temples at Kangra, Chamunda, Jwala Ji and Baijnath, and paragliding at Bir Billing, are possible extensions that need extra time.
📍 Places to Visit Today: Dharamshala Cricket Stadium | Army Museum/War Memorial | McLeod Ganj & Dalai Lama Temple | Bhagsunag Temple & Waterfall

Day 6

Dharamshala to Dalhousie via Jot Pass and Khajjiar

⏱️ 7 - 12 Hours of Sightseen and journey 🚗 150 km
Your day begins right after breakfast as you leave for Dalhousie, taking the scenic Jot Pass route if the weather is clear and the road is open. Though slightly offbeat, this route rewards you with lovely views all along the way. Make a quick stop at Jot Top to try the famous local barfi—just ask your driver, and they will point you right to it.

Continue your journey toward Khajjiar, where you can soak in the beauty of the sprawling meadow and surrounding mountain views, spend some unhurried time taking photos, and experience this classic destination at least once.

Reach Dalhousie by evening and check into your hotel to freshen up. Step out afterward to explore the vibrant local Dalhousie market and Gandhi Chowk area, perfect for picking up souvenirs, local handicrafts, and woolen items or simply soaking in the lively evening atmosphere of the hill station. Wrap up your day with a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at your hotel.

Note: You can add Kalatop after Khajjair towards Dalhousie only if it’s sunny and you’d like to sit at an open-terrace café and look towards the Chamba Valley mountains. If it’s cold or cloudy, sitting there may not be as enjoyable. Moreover, if you’re travelling via Jot Pass, local advice is that you can skip Kalatop, as the Jot route already provides plenty of wonderful views.
📍 Places to Visit Today: Jot Top (famous barfi stop), Khajjiar Lake & Meadow, Gandhi Chowk, and the local Dalhousie market.
🍽️ Breakfast 🍽️ Dinner 🚗 Private Cab
Day 7

Dalhousie Local Sightseeing and Transfer To Golden City

⏱️ 7 - 12 Hours of Sightseen and journey 🚗 400 km
Your final day begins right after breakfast with a check-out from your Dalhousie hotel. Kick off your morning by exploring the charming colonial-era sights of local Dalhousie, starting with a stroll around the vibrant Gandhi Chowk (GPO), where you can take in the crisp mountain air and enjoy a quiet moment amidst the heritage architecture. Follow this up with a leisurely walk through the bustling local Dalhousie market, perfect for picking up souvenirs, local handicrafts, and woolen items or simply soaking in the lively mountain town atmosphere.

Next, head out for a quick visit to the scenic Panchpula Waterfall, a peaceful retreat surrounded by lush green pine trees where natural mountain streams converge.

After completing your morning sightseeing and grabbing an early lunch, board your private cab by late noon to begin your smooth descent from the hills. Enjoy the scenic drive through the picturesque landscapes of Himachal and Punjab as your driver heads straight toward Chandigarh. You will be dropped off at your preferred location—whether it is the airport, railway station, or your home—by late evening, concluding your wonderful Himalayan journey with sweet and lasting memories!
