भाई, ये एक ऐसी चीज़ है जो जवानी ढलने से पहले-पहले कर ली जाए तो ही ठीक है!

क्योंकि यह कोई आम 'टूर पैकेज' नहीं है, यह एक असली विंटर एक्सपीडिशन (Winter Expedition) है! यह न तो कमज़ोर दिल वालों के लिए है और न ही उम्रदराज़ या अनफिट लोगों के लिए। करने को कोई भी कर सकता है, पर जो लोग पूरी तरह से फिजिकली और मेंटली फिट हैं, वही इसमें आएँ तो सबसे बढ़िया रहेगा। और भाई, जो लोग बात-बात पर 'हाईजीन-हाईजीन' का रोना रोते हैं, वो तो इस टूर पर भूलकर भी कदम न रखें!

क्योंकि यहाँ माइनस 20 से माइनस 35 डिग्री की हाड़ कंपा देने वाली ठंड में पाइपों का पानी जमकर पत्थर हो जाता है। न तो आपको फ्रेश होने (पॉटी करने) के बाद धोने के लिए पानी मिलेगा—सिर्फ और सिर्फ पहाड़ी ड्राई कंपोस्ट टॉयलेट्स (Dry Toilets) ही इस्तेमाल करने होंगे। और 4 से 5 दिन तक नहाने के बारे में तो सोचना भी पाप है! अगर आपने हॉलीवुड सीरीज 'The Last Kingdom', 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms', या 'Game of Thrones' देखी हैं, तो बिल्कुल उसी तरह की बर्फीली, रॉ और वाइल्ड वाइब रहेगी—फर्क सिर्फ इतना है कि आप किसी जंग पर नहीं, बल्कि ज़िंदगी की सबसे यादगार बर्फीली यात्रा पर निकले होंगे!

इस टूर में 'साइटसीइंग' का वो मतलब बिल्कुल नहीं होता जो गर्मियों में होता है। बर्फ की वजह से हर जगह तक गाड़ी नहीं पहुँच पाती। बोलने को तो इंटरनेट पर एजेंट्स आपको कागज़ पर सब लिखकर दे देंगे कि "सर सब कुछ हो जाएगा," लेकिन ग्राउंड रियलिटी हमें अच्छे से पता है। फिर भी, हम आपको प्रॉपर 4x4 व्हीकल्स (जैसे Jimny, Thar, Thar Roxx, Scorpio-N, Toyota Hilux या Isuzu) स्नो चेन्स (Snow Chains) और हमारे तगड़े लोकल अनुभवी ड्राइवर्स के साथ देंगे। इस रूट पर आप शिमला से होते हुए सांगला, चितकुल (अगर रास्ता खुला रहा), कल्पा, नाको, ताबो, पिन वैली (जहाँ तक जा सके), धनखड़ मॉनेस्ट्री (अगर रोड चालू रहा), काज़ा, हिक्किम, कोमिक, लांग्ज़ा और एशिया का सबसे ऊँचा चिचम ब्रिज देखोगे!

कुछ बहुत ज़रूरी बातें:

अपने साथ एक बढ़िया UV प्रोटेक्टिव धूप का चश्मा (Sunglasses) ज़रूर लाना—सफेद बर्फ पर जब तेज़ धूप पड़ती है, तो स्नो ब्लाइंडनेस (Snow Blindness) का खतरा रहता है।
रात को तापमान -5°C से लेकर -35°C तक गिरेगा, तो उसी हिसाब से माइनस 35 डिग्री झेलने वाले कपड़े और हाई-लेंथ वाटरप्रूफ स्नो शूज़ लेकर आना।
कोई भी पहियों (Trolley) वाला एयरपोर्ट बैग मत लाना—पहाड़ों में बर्फ पर पहिये काम नहीं करते; सिर्फ 50-60 लीटर का रकसैक (Backpack) लाना।
अपने साथ एक ओरिजिनल इंसुलेटेड गर्म पानी की बड़ी बोतल, 3-4 जोड़ी ऊनी जुराबें, ज़रूरी दवाइयाँ और पोर्टेबल ऑक्सीजन रखना—क्योंकि कई बार भारी बर्फबारी से रास्ता 2-3 दिन के लिए बंद हो जाता है। ऐसा बहुत कम होता है, पर पहाड़ों में तैयारी हमेशा सबसे बुरे मौसम की रखनी चाहिए।

Because this isn't some ordinary 'tour package'—this is a real, raw Winter Expedition! It is neither meant for the faint-hearted nor for the elderly or unfit. Anyone can attempt it, but it’s best suited strictly for those who are 100% physically and mentally fit. And brother, folks who constantly whine about 'hygiene-hygiene' at every little thing should not even think of setting foot on this trip!

Because out here, in bone-chilling sub-zero temperatures dropping from -20°C to -35°C, water inside pipes freezes solid as rock. You won’t get running water to wash up after using the loo—you will have to rely solely on traditional mountain dry compost toilets. And thinking about taking a bath for 4 to 5 days straight is practically a sin! If you’ve watched Hollywood series like The Last Kingdom, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, or Game of Thrones, it carries that exact frozen, raw, and wild vibe—the only difference being you aren't marching off to war, but heading out on the most memorable frozen adventure of your life!

On this expedition, 'sightseeing' does not mean what it does in the summer. Due to heavy snow, vehicles cannot make it everywhere. On paper, travel agents over the internet will promise you the moon, saying "Sir, everything will be covered," but we know the ground reality inside out. Even so, we provide you proper 4x4 vehicles (like the Jimny, Thar, Thar Roxx, Scorpio-N, Toyota Hilux, or Isuzu) fitted with snow chains and driven by our tough, seasoned local mountain drivers. On this circuit, moving via Shimla, you will witness Sangla, Chitkul (subject to road clearance), Kalpa, Nako, Tabo, Pin Valley (as far as accessible), Dhankar Monastery (if the route stays open), Kaza, Hikkim, Komic, Langza, and Asia's highest Chicham Bridge!

Please Note a few crucial points:

Carry a high-grade UV-protective pair of sunglasses without fail—when harsh sunlight glares off blinding white snow, there is a serious risk of snow blindness.
Night temperatures will plunge anywhere from -5°C down to -35°C, so pack gear capable of handling -35°C and high-ankle waterproof snow boots accordingly.
Do not bring any wheeled trolley suitcases—wheels simply do not work on mountain snow; bring strictly a 50–60 litre rucksack/backpack.
Keep an authentic insulated, vacuum-sealed hot water flask, 3–4 pairs of heavy woolen socks, essential medical supplies, and portable oxygen cans with you—because occasionally, heavy snowfall can block roads for 2–3 days. It rarely happens, but in the high Himalayas, you must always prepare for the worst weather.

Special batches for our 4x4 convoy are rolling out across December, January, February, and March. Seats and vehicles are strictly limited. The journey kicks off from Delhi via an overnight Volvo bus arriving in Shimla, and from Shimla, our real 4x4 caravan marches straight into Spiti Valley.

Sangla to Tabo via Khab Confluence & Nako
